A Healthy Eaters Guide to Barcelona
Barcelona is a well-known gastronomic travel destination and famous for its Spanish cuisine including Iberico ham, croquettes, paella and potatas bravas. If you are like me, a healthy eater and mainly plant-based, you might wonder where to eat. I spent one month in this beautiful city and tried out all healthy eateries I could find. I put together this guide to share my insider-tips with fellow wellness enthusiasts and I hope you enjoy it.

If you followed my Instagram Stories, you could not have missed this spot. I would say this became my absolute favorite for a number of reasons and I even had my birthday brunch here. They do fruity bowls, a wide variety of porridges, toasts and delicious salads. Not only do they have an interesting and exciting menu but the space itself so beautiful: light, airy and made of natural materials such as wood and stone. They also have great wifi, which is a rare commodity in cafes in Barcelona, and I often worked from the cafe.

When to go: Breakfast or Lunch
Eating well shouldn’t mean that you need to sit in a casual cafe or falafel shop. The world need more places like Green Spot - a healthy but sexy restaurant that you want to go to for dinner. The experience of being in the restaurant itself should be inviting and inspiring. Green Spot has created a stunning restaurant with a nice vibe while keeping the menu right on point for us wellness enthusiasms.
My favorite dish: Tomato Salad with vegan cheese, kalamata olives and pesto
When to go: For a fun dinner with friends or a date
Flax & Kale
This is another great option for a healthy dinner as the restaurant itself has a nice vibe and tone. Flax & Kale is one of several restaurants by Teresa Carles and my personal choice. Even just looking at the menu makes me exciting and gets my appetite going. They have options for all diet requirements and includes animal protein however even my meat-eater friends ended up ordering vegan dishes and loved it. Eating healthy and animal-friendly should be delicious and exciting, which is something Flax and Kale do so well.

When to go: For a nice but casual dinner
This is your perfect weekend brunch spot with friends. A busy and vibrant cafe with good coffee and your favorite brunch dishes on the menu. Caravelle is popular, so be prepared to wait a little if you arrive around lunch time. It is certainly worth the wait and you can enjoy some people watching meanwhile. There is also a communal table where you can snag a spot if you are lucky.
Favorite dish: Healthy bowl with quinoa, veggies and avocado
When to go: For brunch on the weekend with friends
This little cafe is always filled with beautiful people, cute dogs and trendy instagrammers. I completely get why it is so popular as the food is both delicious and beautifully presented. They get a golden star in my book as they make delicious foamy coffees with my favorite oat-milk brand. Perfectly located close to the city beach and park.
Favorite dish: Healthy bowl with pea hummus
When to go: After a visit to Ciutadella Park or Barceloneta Beach
I love the rustic and authentic vibe of Granja Petitbo. The space itself has wooden floors, velvet sofas, lots of pictures and magazines which creates an inviting atmosphere. The menu offers your typical brunch dishes but also a few healthy options for the picky diner.

When to go: Casual brunch or lunch
