Oat & Almond Mylk

TIME: Overnight | SERVINGS: 4 | NUTRITION: healthy fats

WHY YOU WILL LOVE IT

This is a perfect non-dairy option to your usual milk and super easy to make at home. I have played around with different variations of nut mylks and here is my latest invention - a combination of oat and almonds! It balances the sweetness from the oats with the nutty flavour of the almonds.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • ½ cup of almonds

  • ½ cup of oats

  • Vanilla

  • Cinnamon

  • Honey optional

HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. Soak the almonds and oats over night. Be a little generous with the water as the almonds and oats will expand and soak the water.

  2. Next day, toss away the water and mix the almonds and oats in the blender with 3 cups of water with vanilla and cinnamon.

  3. Use a colander or nut bag to strain the water from the larger chunks of nuts. You can keep nuts and use it as “granola” or make super food energy balls.

  4. Store the mylk in a glass container in the fridge. It will last up to 5 days.

  5. Enjoy with fresh fruits and granola in the morning or for a warming golden mylk.
